Family Course - ASA 101: Basic Keelboat Certification

Course Objective

Enjoy a memorable bonding experience with your family! You will spend 3 days sailing together on the water. Our licensed captain will be on the boat as your guide, but everyone will be learning while you sail the boat. Upon completion, you should be able to skipper your boat safely near the shore, during the day, in fair winds less than 10 knots. This is the first course in the ASA sailing certification system, which is an important building block for future sailing courses.

Prerequisite (none)

Tuition

Tuition includes ASA certification for two members over 18 years of age.
Additional ASA certifications for persons over age 18: $150.00 p/person
ASA certification for persons under age 18 is not available; however, a certificate of completion will be awarded to your junior crew members.

Scheduling

We will arrange a private course that works with your schedule. Sessions could be once a week for 3 weeks or three days in a row or a hybrid if you choose. Class times are scheduled in four hour blocks, typically from noon to 4pm, but you may schedule them earlier or later if you would like.
