Night Sailing and Radar Clinic (ASA certification not applicable)

Course Objective
Although night sailing is covered in our ASA 103 Basic Coastal Cruising class, sailing in the dark is a skill which requires lots of practice, confidence, and know-how. After this four hour evening class, you will be able to effectively utilize radar to guide you safely back into the harbor at night. There is no ASA certification applicable for this course.
Course Overview
This course emphasizes safe, efficient use of radar for navigating coastal cruising sailboats in any condition of visibility. You will learn how to more proficiently use radar for piloting, chart navigation, and avoiding collisions. A broad range of radar-related topics will be covered including:
- how radar works
- interpreting the screen
- position navigation
- radar and navigation rules
